Holly Willoughby shares hilarious throwback to presenting This Morning drunk with Phillip Schofield

Holly Willoughby has shared a throwback snap of the time she presented This Morning drunk after bagging a National Television Award – and has teased it could happen again.

Willoughby urged viewers to vote for the flagship magazine show – which she hosts with pal Phillip Schofield - in a bid to win a NTA at tonight’s star-studded bash .

Back in 2016, Willoughby and Schofield picked up the Daytime TV gong and partied a little too hard – all the way to the London Studios the following morning.

The duo created “TV gold” when they fronted the popular show dressed in the same clothes as the night before and looking a little worse for wear.

Willoughby had a mint sauce stain on her white gown while Schofield looked beyond tired in his sharp suit.

Willoughby shared a snap from the iconic moment on Instagram, writing: “If I could remember this it would probably be one of my favourite tv moments ever...

“Voting for the @officialntas closes at 12pm... eek!!!!! @thismorning @dancingonice @imacelebrity ... if you would like to vote for any of your favourites... the link is in my bio...”

But, despite having to do live TV after a heavy night, Willoughby hinted at the top of Tuesday’s show that they could do it again if they storm to another victory at The O2 this evening.

As Schofield returned to the helm after a day off, he joked: “Do you remember what this feels like? Opening presenting a show in one-piece…”

And his quick-witted co-host replied: "Yeah, fast-forward 24 hours and it might not be the same situation….”

Last year, the show poked fun at the messy NTA after-party by joking that the pair “hadn’t turned up” for work.

After breaking through a white screen with their latest statuette, Willoughby said: “There was a lot of talking, singing and celebrating. I might read the auto-cue with one eye open.”

This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV. The National Television Awards are tonight at 7.30pm.
