Holly Willoughby shrugs off Phillip Schofield 'feud' with sweet tribute to 'best friend'
Willoughby marked Father’s Day with posts about her own dad, her husband Dan Baldwin and Schofield who she described as one of her “best friends in the world”.
Willoughby shared a picture of the smiling pair from the National Television Awards alongside the caption: “Talking of important men in my life on Father’s Day. Here’s another one.
“My partner on the telly and one of my best friends in the world... love you @schofe.”
Schofield replied: “Awwww thank you bestie. Love you too. Happy Father’s Day to Dan xxxxxx.”
Fans hailed them their “favourite TV duo” as they lavished praise on the double act, with one user commenting: “Think it’s lovely how you two have a great relationship xx.”
Another wrote: “The two of you are what we all aspire to be like.”
A third said: “Love watching you guys on the TV. You just bounce off each other. Pure enjoyment.”
Willoughby’s post came amid reports the pair were feuding over a Sunday Times Magazine cover which showed Willoughby wearing a cartoon crown alongside the tagline: “How Holly Willoughby eclipsed Phillip Schofield and became Britain’s hottest TV star.”
According to The Sun, Schofield was fuming and later received a letter of apology from the publication.
The TV duo have worked together on This Morning since 2009 and also present Dancing on Ice.
They frequently holiday together, with Schofield last month sharing Snapchats of a worse-for-wear Willoughby shouting for her husband as they made their way back to their hotel.
