She may be no stranger to early starts as a co-host on This Morning – but even Holly Willoughby wasn't best pleased at having her Sunday lie in cut short.

The presenter, 40, sweetly revealed her frustrations in a post on Instagram after her family's new dog Bailey woke her up early, before proceeding to have a nap himself.

In the cute picture, the mother-of-three can be seen wearing cosy tartan-print pyjama set – and one of her favourite necklaces – while glancing at the golden retriever curled up beside her.

She wrote: "Just when you get to the point where your kids lie in on a Sunday…I’m up with this one...now she sleeps…lucky I love her so much…#Bailey."

Willoughby's post has received more than 99,000 'likes', with fellow dog owners sharing their own similar sleep-disrupting experiences.

The fresh-faced star was also wearing a piece of jewellery from her new Wylde Moon x Kirstie Le Marque collection.

It is the Diamond Lucky Star Crescent Necklace, costing £375, and features a diamond crescent moon set in a lucky horseshoe formation with three stars.

According to the website – where customers can still receive 10% off for Black Friday weekend – it is strung up on a 9ct gold diamond cut chain.

In a post shared on Instagram yesterday, Willoughby paired the same necklace with a pink roll-neck jumper.

The star wrote: "When I wear my Lucky Star Crescent necklace it has a job to do. The horse shoe is a traditional symbol of luck, offering protection and often holding magic within its form…

"Then the stars… in the darkness shines a light offering hope and guidance."

Earlier this week, she introduced This Morning viewers to her new dog when she brought him to the TV show's set.

It comes after the presenter revealed the positives of being "forced to stop" by illness after she was recently forced to take several days off sick.

The star shared how having to rest allowed her "space" to "reflect" on a busy few weeks – which has seen her launch lifestyle brand Wylde Moon and release book Reflections.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote: "Happy full moon...the build up to this one was extremely exciting but hard.

"Body and mind eventually being forced to stop by illness giving space for me to reflect on what has been a huge month."
