Hollyoaks airs creepy Abe twist for the McQueens

Hollyoaks spoilers follow from Friday's episode on Channel 4 streaming, which doesn't air on E4 until Monday.

Tonight's (January 19) Hollyoaks streaming episode left on a creepy cliffhanger which saw newcomer Abe Fielding secretly watching the McQueens.

Safe star Tyler Conti was recently introduced as Cleo McQueen's personal trainer boyfriend, who arrived in the village to try and get her attention.

Earlier in the episode, Cleo was surprised to find Abe at the hospital looking for her. "I was really hurt, not to mention worried sick when you just vanished into thin air like that," he said.

"It was like you were trying to get away from me or something," he added, before Cleo reassured him that it wasn't true.

Leela then planted seeds of doubt into Abe's mind, when she revealed that Cleo hadn't left Joel's side since returning to the village.

"I really thought the two of us had something," said Abe, after learning of Cleo and Joel's recent rekindled connection."Of all people Cleo," he added.

The pair's conversation was soon disturbed when a worried Leela called for help as Joel's lungs began to collapse. A jealous Abe watched on as Cleo desperately tried to resuscitate him.

After clearing the air with Leela, Cleo introduced her new boyfriend to Myra and Theresa. Abe quickly got the approval of Myra, who said: "You've got a good'un there, love."

As Cleo arrived home for dinner with her family, Joel woke up in the hospital asking for his ex. "Is Cleo okay?" he said, leaving girlfriend Leela upset.

After finding out about Cleo and Joel's recent connection, Abe was then seen spying on the McQueens. Could the village's new arrival spell trouble for the fan-favourite family?
