Hollyoaks airs emotional scenes in Rose gender identity storyline
Hollyoaks spoilers follow for the latest episode on Channel 4 streaming, which will air on E4 tomorrow.
Hollyoaks has aired some emotional new scenes in Rose Lomax's gender identity storyline tonight (March 6), after he came out as a trans man.
At the end of the previous episode, Tony and Diane Hutchinson saw Rose was now sporting short hair. When they asked what happened, he said he did it himself because he realised he's a boy (he hasn't chosen a new name yet).
Picking up where things left off, Tony and Diane reacted poorly to the news, with Tony saying they weren't going to take Rose to the barbers to sort his hair out.

Kitty Draper saw how disheartened Rose was and tried to comfort him, saying that she'd have a word with his parents and try and get them to understand.
Unfortunately, Tony and Diane were both at each other's throats over their drink-driving as well, and weren't able to process Rose's revelation either.
Instead, Tony blamed Kitty for influencing Rose, saying that she had been putting ideas in his child's head. Kitty tried to protest, telling them Rose has been having these feelings for years, but Tony just told her to leave, immediately.
"This is what she's been doing, pushing her agenda," a furious Tony told Diane.
Rose walked in and was heartbroken to see Kitty packing her bags, and lashed out at his parents, telling them that he hated them.

Later on, when things had calmed down a bit, Diane realised what a big mistake they had made with Rose and asked Kitty to come back as an attempt to start making things right.
After some persuasion, Kitty agreed to stay, but said that was "doing this for Rose" and not Tony and Diane.
While Diane understood and was grateful, Tony couldn't give his wife an answer when she asked if they'll get through all their issues together.
