Hollyoaks airs Fergus's evil plot for Maxine

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Fergus Collins has fooled Maxine Minniver with his latest evil scheme in Hollyoaks.

Maxine woke up in Friday's (August 20) first-look episode convinced she'd slept with her mum's boyfriend the night before, with Fergus not doing anything to convince her otherwise.

Max wanted to confess to her mum and Warren because she was wracked with guilt, but Fergus ordered her to keep the secret to herself.

But Maxine simply couldn't live with herself, so she set off to tell her boyfriend Warren the truth after she missed his big day with the kids.

Warren had only just been given permission by Sienna to see Sophie and Sebastian this week after she discovered he hadn't been the one to shoot her — it was the sinister Summer Ranger!

Maxine broke down into tears as she attempted to come clean, but couldn't bring herself to admit to sleeping with Fergus in the end. Rather than reveal the truth, she decided to simply end things with Warren.

"I think I messed up with the kids day because deep down I know that we're not right for each other and it's just the easiest thing for everyone, okay?" she tearfully told him.

"I'm sorry Warren, but it's over!"

However, the truth was revealed when Fergus told Timmy he'd just got Maxine drunk enough to make believe they'd slept together. That way, it'd get Warren out of the way and they could install more illegal security cameras in her home.

Will Fergus get away with his latest evil deed?
