Seth Costello's final scenes have aired in Hollyoaks, following a brief comeback.

The villainous character has stayed around on the fringes of the village, even after his grandfather Silas Blissett gave up his vendetta against the McQueens (supposedly once and for all).

Seth's (Miles Higson) latest schemes have seen him trying to complete his original plan to steal the McQueens' money, but the lockbox with the cash he'd taken still needed its key. He also still had hopes of wooing Theresa (Jorgie Porter) into running away with him.

He was desperate to get the key from Goldie McQueen in Monday's (February 1) first-look episode, even sneaking into her boudoir to try and find it.

Goldie (Chelsee Healey) then lured him into The Dog in the Pond's lounge, where he was confronted by three of the McQueen women for his double-dealing.

Theresa asked him: "You actually think I was going to come away with you when you lied to me about Silas? I don't want you anywhere near me. My loyalty has always been with this family!

"And I think you're just mad that you've been played by 'little girls'."

Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) then advised him: "Never underestimate a McQueen lady."

To finally run Seth off, PC George Kiss (Callum Kerr) showed up to say that he wouldn't arrest Seth only if he agreed to "leave now and never return". So, off he went!

"I never loved you anyway," Theresa shouted after him, trying to hold back tears.

Miles Higson originally played Seth between 2010 and 2011 in the Channel 4 soap, before making a surprise return last December as part of Silas's blackmail vendetta.

The actor spoke to Digital Spy about bringing a darker edge to the character in this storyline, revealing: "I thought it was a great storyline. I didn't think coming back to the soap was right unless it was for a meaty storyline and I was keen as soon as I knew Jeff [Rawle, who plays Silas] was on board.

"Seth brings a really interesting twist to the blackmail storyline as he's stuck in the middle between his biological family (his past) and his new family with Theresa (his future?)."

Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
