Yahoo News Hollyoaks' Maxine Minniver leaves the village tonight
Maxine Minniver will flee the village heartbroken in Hollyoaks tonight (September 25) as she is forced to accept her marriage to Adam Donovan is over.
Maxine (Nikki Sanderson) was left devastated last week when Adam announced that he was leaving her for his scheming ex Darcy Wilde, but she's secretly remained hopeful that he might have a change of heart.
Unfortunately, tonight's first look scenes will see Maxine start to lose faith in a reunion with Adam – especially in the wake of her recent spat with Darcy at the river.
Convinced that Adam will never forgive her after this, Maxine later tells him that she's booked a one-way ticket to America and doesn't know when she's coming back.
Adam certainly isn't unmoved by Maxine's big bombshell and his reaction leaves her with fresh hope that he might stop her going – like he did before.
Sadly, it looks like Maxine is going to have her heart broken all over again as these first look pictures reveal that she does end up leaving the village – with only her friend Nancy there to bid her farewell.
The good news is that Maxine won't be staying in America forever and we can reveal that she will definitely be returning to the village. But whether that's the end for her and Adam remains to be seen...
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
