Hollyoaks is getting ready to air the dramatic wedding of Darren Osborne and Mandy Richardson, although there might not be a happy ending in sight for the couple.

Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) recently reconnected with his ex-wife Nancy Osborne. After the wedding, the exes share a kiss and things between the pair escalate – and they end up spending the night together.

But due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, the cast and crew must maintain strict social distancing guidelines on set. Hollyoaks has found a unique way to combat this when filming the more intimate and close-contact scenes between Darren and Nancy (Jessica Fox).

It turns out Jessica's real-life husband Nicholas Willes was brought on set as a body double for Ashley Taylor Dawson so that next week's scenes could be shot while adhering to coronavirus protocols.

Mandy (Sarah Jayne Dunn) ends up pushing Darren and Nancy together after it's revealed that she was hiding a massive secret.

When the wedding day arrives, Mandy struggles as she's been helping her daughter Ella to cover up her involvement in Jordan Price's murder.

Nancy overheard a conversation between Mandy and Luke about Jordan's death and she has to make a tough decision.

Darren feels betrayed when he finds out that Mandy has been blaming his son Charlie for the death of Jordan, particularly when she knows that Ella was really the one at fault.

Next week, Darren and Nancy get caught up in the moment and share a kiss, which leads to them spending the night together.

What does this mean for Darren and Nancy's future?

Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
