Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Newcomer Tomi Ade is joining the cast of Hollyoaks in a major role.
The young actor has been cast as Felix Westwood's (Richard Blackwood) estranged son DeMarcus in scenes that will air on Thursday, September 9 on E4, and then repeat the following night on Channel 4.
The soap has previously explored Felix's strained relationship with Toby and Celeste Faroe after abandoning them as children, as well as him reconnecting with son Mitchell Deveraux before actor Imran Adams left the soap.
Felix's son DeMarcus arrives in the village determined to reconnect with his father, but getting along with his half-siblings Toby (Bobby Gordon) and Celeste (Andrea Ali) could prove to be challenging.
DeMarcus is rebellious and headstrong, both traits that could lead him to cause trouble as he adjusts to life in the village with the other teen characters.
"Joining the cast of Hollyoaks has been such an amazing experience," actor Tomi Ade said in a statement today (August 24).
"The cast have been so welcoming, and I've just had a blast on set so far. I cannot wait for the fans to meet Demarcus and see what we have in store for him and his journey in the village!"
The addition of DeMarcus continues to expand the sphere of the Deverauxs' extended family within Hollyoaks.
In addition to those characters mentioned, Felix's ex Martine Deveraux (Kéllé Bryan) and her father Walter (Trevor A Toussaint) are central characters running the Price Slice shop.
Dawn's character Pearl is an old friend of Walter's late wife whose arrival could spark some much-needed levity in the Price Slice shopkeeper's life after a rough few months.
Hollyoaks airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look screenings at 7pm on E4. Selected omnibus episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video.
