Hollyoaks spoilers for Tuesday's (June 30) first-look episode follow.
Charlie Dean has fallen prey to drugs dealer Jordan Price in Hollyoaks.
The impressionable youngster was targeted by Jordan (Connor Calland) after drugs boss Victor Brothers (Benjamin O'Mahoney) began increasing pressure on him to drive up sales among students.
Sid Sumner (Billy Price) reluctantly tried to recruit Charlie (Charlie Behan) in the latest E4 episode, taking advantage of Charlie's grief over the death of parental figure Kyle Kelly.
However, Charlie was under tremendous stress at home with Nancy Hayton (Jessica Fox) still understandably distraught over her partner's tragic suicide as well.
Later, Nancy also revealed her dire financial situation to Charlie, explaining she simply didn't have the money to replace the gaming system she recently destroyed in a fit of rage.
"I see. Now's not the time to ask," Charlie told her while trying to hide his disappointment.
Charlie felt backed into a corner, so he went back to Sid to accept the job selling drugs for Jordan — and was further tempted by an advance on his pay.
"Think of it as a friendly loan," Sid reluctantly told him. "You're going to have to pay it back at some point."
The recent New Year's Eve flashforward has revealed that Charlie's association with Jordan will ultimately lead to a dark spiral where police turn up at his home on December 31.
Jessica Fox has praised Hollyoaks for finally giving young actor Charlie Behan this major storyline after appearing in the soap for the last 14 years!
"It's also really exciting that we're giving Charlie his first story," she said. "He's one of the longest-serving cast and he's not had a story before. He's buzzing and he's so excited about it. He's doing loads of research and he's asking questions because he wants to get it right.
"It's lovely. We've watched him grow up and now he's taking the mantle, which is really exciting."
Hollyoaks airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm. Wednesdays through Fridays on E4 will feature classic episodes called Hollyoaks Favourites to compensate for the soap suspending filming.
