Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Hollyoaks' Cher Winters has taken part in twisted revenge on Mercedes McQueen.
Her latest cruel scheme against her step-mum took place in the aftermath of Cher being cleared of suspicion in George Kiss's murder, right in time to hear Mercedes trying to prevent Romeo from telling her about their fling.
Mercedes scrambled to cover herself and Romeo in Wednesday's (April 28) first-look episode by claiming she was questioning whether Cher was actually guilty of killing George because she'd already "done it once before" with her sister.
"I hate you," Cher seethed.
As Sylver chased after his daughter, Mercedes made it clear to Romeo that she hadn't messed up her relationship with Cher to protect him.
Mercy tried to smooth things over with Sylver by saying that she had "baby brain", but a pregnancy test revealed that she wasn't actually expecting.
"I could have sworn I was," she admitted to Sylver. "I had all the symptoms. I guess I was just kidding myself."
As Sylver went back to work, Mercedes struggled to come to grips with the news. She took out late son Gabriel's baby box and wept as she reflected on his stillbirth six years ago.
Cher leapt on the opportunity to steal the memory box when Mercedes begged her step-daughter to "cut her some slack", but a heart-to-heart with new mum Liberty seemingly stopped her from destroying Mercedes' sacred mementos.
"If Mercedes is the problem, [Sylver] will find out on his own," Liberty assured her.
Cher did return the memory box, but signalled she wouldn't give up her vendetta when she told Mercy she'd accept her apology because she realised how "vulnerable" her step-mum is.
The teen got her twisted revenge later when she hid outside The Dog and played sounds of a baby crying to trigger Mercedes once again — since Mercy couldn't find where the cries were coming from.
What will Cher do next in her revenge plot?
