Hollyoaks has confirmed an exit for a major character in the latest episode.
Tuesday's first-look episode (May 9) on E4 was the dramatic swansong for Angus Castle-Doughty as the evil Eric Foster, following his showdown with brother Tony and Maxine in court.
As he awaited punishment for his siege in the village, Eric was irate to see Tony and Maxine walk out of the hearing — thus denying him the attention he craved.

While Eric had a tense departure from the soap, cast member Angus Castle-Doughty was much more light-hearted as he said his goodbye to fans in a video message you can watch above.
"Hi – well, I mean, bye," Angus joked in the video opening.
The actor went on to thank fans for "the tremendous support" they'd shown him since Eric first showed up on screens last year.
"When I came to Hollyoaks, I didn't know what to expect, at all," he admitted. "I've learned to work, here, and be an adult which is not something I ever wanted to do."
Angus went on: "The other people I'm going to miss are [the cast and crew]... From the bottom of my heart, thank you all very much. I love you all and I will continue to root for this show for the rest of my career."

The actor came to Hollyoaks following notable appearances in Showtrial and Shadow and Bone as part of a storyline about radical misogyny.
His character was radicalised as part of an online men's group and, following the death of his sister Verity, he tried to take vengeance against Maxine. The final week for Eric saw him injure Maxine during a prison visit, and while it looked like he'd won, Maxine joined with Tony in walking out of his court hearing to start fresh.
Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
