Hollyoaks has revealed the new actor taking on the role of Ollie Morgan.
Newcomer Gabriel Clark will be taking over as Luke Morgan's (Gary Lucy) son as Ollie returns to screens next week, it was announced on Monday (November 2).
Clark previously appeared in the Channel 4 soap as Chris Neeson, one of the young men who testified against Ollie's abuser Buster Smith during his trial.
“I’m so excited to join the cast of Hollyoaks," he said. "Two years ago, I was part of the Buster storyline, so to finally be here, playing a lead role in Hollyoaks, it is very surreal. When I was younger, I did a few CBBC shows, but mainly theatre.”
Clark is joining the soap following original Ollie actor Aedan Duckworth's sudden departure on-screen in September.
Ollie was last seen on-screen running away from the village after breaking up with girlfriend Brooke Hathaway (Talia Grant). Clark's debut coincides with Ollie becoming more involved in the County Lines story.
Clark recently received the support of co-star Sarah Jayne Dunn, when she recently told Digital Spy's Soap Scoop podcast that the young actor is "brilliant" and "lovely".
"He's been thrown straight in at the deep end," she said. "Ollie is such a big character and such an important character to Mandy as well, so it's exciting."
As for how viewers will react to the recasting, the actress suggested: "I think the audience will be quite forgiving of every show at the moment.
"Everyone knows what we've been through and what we're still going through. I think it still really works, and it's made it slightly more interesting actually because of the way it's had to be told now."
Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4. Classic episodes, titled Hollyoaks Favourites, air on Fridays at 7pm on E4.
