Hollyoaks has confirmed the future of Mercedes and Sylver McQueen after they left for Alicante last week.

On Thursday's (September 23) first-look episode on E4, the McQueens were in crisis over the revelation that Bobby Costello had been the one posing as Cher's mysterious friend 'Jade'.

Mercedes then decided that the best thing to do was take Bobby away to her mum's for a while to get him professional help, since Bobby admitted he'd trolled Cher after discovering her plot against Mercedes.

Before leaving for Alicante, Mercedes explained to Nana, Goldie and Theresa that she'd sold the pub, but Fergus had agreed to let them stay there while running it.

And while Mercedes had initially not wanted Sylver to come with them, Cher eventually convinced them both they needed to be a family.

Of course fans were worried that we might have seen the last of Mercedes and Sylver, however the Channel 4 soap has confirmed that's not the case.

Sharing a video of their exit on Twitter, the official Hollyoaks account wrote: "Mercedes, Sylver and Bobby may have gone to Alicante, but they'll be back soon! Are you glad that they were all able to put the past behind them?"

However Mercedes and Sylver probably won't be too happy when they get back.

While Mercedes had thought she'd struck a fair deal with Fergus, what she doesn't know is he's planning to sell the pub, taking it out of the McQueen's hands for good.

Hollyoaks airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look screenings at 7pm on E4. Selected omnibus episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video.
