Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks has confirmed that Ollie Morgan will be returning to Chester next week as he leaves rehab early.

Ollie (Gabriel Clark) went into treatment at a rehab centre for his drug addiction in early April, shortly after Hollyoaks aired a special episode focusing on mental health.

During Ollie's absence, his dad Luke Morgan (Gary Lucy) has been faced with the sudden arrival of his mum Sue Morgan (Marian McLoughlin), who has sadly been diagnosed with a terminal heart condition.

In scenes to air next week, Luke will clash with Sue as she starts to make plans for her own funeral. The situation isn't helped by the fact that Sue continues to favour Luke's ex Mandy Richardson (Sarah Jayne Dunn) over his current partner, Cindy (Stephanie Waring).

Things take a turn for the worse when Sue collapses and is given an oxygen tank to help her breathe. Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) warns Luke that Sue is becoming weaker and that she will become more dependent over time.

Struggling with the news, Luke admits to Mandy that he is concerned about his own health and is terrified of dying. Luke later considers turning to alcohol to cope again, but will anyone be able to stop him in time?

There's even more going on for the family later in the week, as Cindy receives a surprise when Ollie unexpectedly returns home. He tells Cindy that something has happened and so he has had to discharge himself from rehab early.

Before Cindy is able to tell Luke about Ollie's return, though, Luke tells her that he needs to get his own head sorted out before he can think about dealing with anything else.

Full of concern for Luke, Cindy later meets Ollie alone and is shocked when she discovers the truth about why he left rehab, prompting her to make a drastic decision.

In the aftermath, Cindy is left scrambling for words when she's confronted about her actions and Sue decides to seize on this opportunity to push Cindy out of Luke's life for good.

And it seems like the walls are closing in on Cindy as Luke ends up taking his mum's side over hers.

Hollyoaks airs Ollie's return on Wednesday, June 2 at 6.30pm on Channel 4. First-look episodes air weeknights at 7pm on E4.
