Yahoo News Hollyoaks' Diane Hutchinson faces huge decision after Tony split
Hollyoaks' Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) will be faced with a very big decision after her sad split from husband Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard).
In scenes that will air next week on the soap, Tony will decide that he needs to be cruel to be kind to Diane as he tries to protect her and their children from his unpredictable behaviour by putting space between him and his family.
Tony's scheming father Edward Hutchinson (Joe McGann) feels thwarted when Diane tells him that she isn't ready to give up on her husband yet. So he shows a shocked Tony some monster pictures that the kids have drawn and lies that this is how they now see their dad, causing poor Tony to believe that his children are afraid of him.

As a result, Tony sets up a date for Diane and Edward in The Hutch and tells a furious Diane that she deserves to be with Edward and not him.
A triumphant Edward tries to push Diane to decide between her past with Tony and a potential future with him, but will Diane be able to make a decision?
Whoever Diane chooses, Edward isn't ready to stop scheming yet as he emotionally blackmails his daughter Verity Hutchinson (Eva O'Hara) into winning Diane round for him.
Hollyoaks viewers have seen Edward manipulate Tony and Diane for months, unknown to them, after his romance with Diane was ended by Tony's sudden shock return to the village after he was kidnapped by Breda McQueen last year.

Diane, who had believed up to that point that Tony had purposely abandoned her, got back together with her husband but jealous Edward has been coming between them ever since.
The surgeon has wrongly informed Tony that he has a brain tumour, has been giving him drugs that affect his behaviour and has been playing tricks on him to make him appear unstable, causing Tony to doubt himself at every turn.
Whether Edward will be getting his comeuppance soon remains to be seen but star Alex Fletcher, who plays Diane, has teased that fans won't expect what's going to happen next, saying that she was "shocked" when she found out the next twist in the story.
Hollyoaks airs weekdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes at 7pm on E4.
