Hollyoaks has dropped a terrifying new hint that George Kiss's killer will strike again.

John Paul McQueen is currently in jail on suspicion of murdering his boyfriend, but new scenes have seemingly proved that he was not the one responsible for the PC's death.

In Friday's (April 30) first-look episode on E4, Nancy remained determined to find out the truth about George's killer in order to free her best mate John Paul from jail.

A surprising break in the case came about during a strategy session with the McQueens, when Goldie pointed out that campers like Dean often bury their waste in the forest.

Nancy connected the dots that, since the murder weapon hadn't been found, Dean may have buried it in the woods on the outskirts of the village.

Theresa told Darren about Nancy's plans, so he had a heart-to-heart with her where he shared his fears that something could happen to her or their loved ones if she did find the killer.

His words finally got through to Nancy, so she told Dean that she wouldn't be continuing her investigation. Dean warned her that John Paul was guilty as he announced his plans to leave the village.

The ominous final scene confirmed Nancy's theory that the murder weapon — a book-end — had indeed been buried in the woods… but not by Dean.

As Dean left the village, viewers watched from someone else's perspective as they kept an eye on him while digging up the book-end.

All viewers could see was a black-gloved hand — not a surgical glove for you long-time Hollyoaks fans — holding the weapon.

Is the killer about the strike once again by killing Dean?
