Hollyoaks exit for villain Edward Hutchinson as Joe McGann bows out

From Digital Spy

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Joe McGann's Hollyoaks baddie Edward Hutchinson is on his way out of the Channel 4 soap.

The master manipulator has terrorised Tony Hutchinson (Edward's son) and Tony's wife Diane all year – even shacking up with the latter in a crazy turn of events – but as we know, soap villains always get their just deserts in the end.

According to Metro, the actor has already waved goodbye to the series after shooting his final scenes and it's expected that Edward "goes out with a bang".

Apparently, after a final showdown of events, Edward's true colours will eventually be exposed for all to see.

A Hollyoaks representative declined to comment on the news when contacted by Digital Spy.

But now that we know he's exiting the village, will Tony manage to fight back against his father's twisted behaviour?

Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look screenings at 7pm on E4. Classic episodes, titled Hollyoaks Favourites, air on Fridays at 7pm on E4.
