Since Diane's passing, fans have taken to social media to predict how Nana will leave the village, with some predicting that the McQueen matriarch will sadly pass away off-screen.
One fan penned: "Maybe have her pass on the show as well and have a funeral for her." Another added: "I hope they bring her character to a gracious end and not just a couple of naff lines about Nana dying in Alicante."
A third person said: "They best have a funeral episode for Nanna. Ping fluffy coffin etc..." Someone else said: "Hope they give her a good send off in Hollyoaks McQueen style."
Diane's career on the screen began in 1959 when she appeared as a schoolgirl in Carry On Teacher. She went on to appear in Carry On Laughing (1975), the TV spin-off of the film series, and in the film Carry On England (1976), where she played Private Alice Easy.
She famously played June Snell, the girlfriend of Del Boy (Sir David Jason) in the BBC's legendary sitcom Only Fools and Horses. She appeared in two episodes of the show in the 1980s.
Diane appeared as Bev Williams in EastEnders from 1998 until 1999. She later appeared in Holby City and Doctors before joining Hollyoaks as Nana McQueen in 2007.
She initially left the soap in 2009 but returned in 2012, staying for over a decade before leaving in 2023 and returning again this year.
