Hollyoaks' Fergus Collins has stolen The Loft from Grace Black in a dodgy business deal.

Monday's first-look episode took place in the aftermath of the sign from The Loft collapsing on top of Darren, leaving him seriously injured.

As Fergus had actually engineered the so-called accident by loosening the screws in the sign, he warned a furious Warren to prove his allegiance or he'd tell police it was his tools used on the sign.

Grace was in a dire state over her financial crisis, when Fergus swooped in to offer he'd buy into The Loft as a "silent partner" since she didn't have any public liability insurance.

Fergus claimed that he'd make it seem like he'd bought a share of the loft weeks earlier and then retroactively add it to his insurance policy.

At the same time, Warren revealed the truth to Felix about Fergus's involvement, so he rushed to the club to urge Grace not to sign over anything.

"Business is all about timing, Felix, much like comedy — and you missed your cue," Fergus taunted. "Signed, file delivered. [The club] is mine.

Grace insisted she'd only sold Fergus a minority share, when the evil scammer revealed she misread the contract she'd signed.

"I saved The Loft. End of," he revealed. "And to do that, I had to take the lion's share. I have control of the club… It's what you signed, in your blind haste to avoid a lawsuit. Oh Grace, always read the small print."

When Grace warned Fergus he wouldn't get away with his con, Fergus sneered: "Oh no? Watch me…"
