Hollyoaks has been forced to cancel outdoor filming after snow covered the village today (March 8).

The northern parts of the country have been hit by another heavy snowfall, just days after the chaos caused by severe weather conditions last week.

With snow covering the outside village set, the cast and crew have been forced to focus on indoor filming this morning instead.

This is to ensure that the snowy village won't be visible in scenes that will be airing in spring – but you can still catch a look at a wintery Chester in these pictures.

Hollyoaks isn't the only northern soap to be hit by filming disruption today as Emmerdale has also been affected.

Several members of the Emmerdale cast have been tweeting their snow pictures this morning, with scheduling issues thought to have arisen for the same reasons.

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
