Hollyoaks has revealed full details of Luke Morgan's heartbreaking final week on screen.
Luke was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in December 2019, and his condition has started to deteriorate in recent months.
Gary Lucy has already filmed his final scenes in the role, and Luke's exit will play out in special episodes next week. A glimpse into the future has already confirmed that Luke's funeral will take place in July.
Back in April, the cast and crew at the Channel 4 soap worked on location in Mallorca for Luke and Cindy's stag and hen celebrations. They are joined by Tony, Darren, Tom, Yazz, Zara and Ollie for the trip.
As the sun rises on the Mallorca coast, Luke and Cindy's plans commence. The girls kick back for a spa day, while the boys explore the island – in matching stag-do t-shirts.
Unfortunately, things get off to a rocky start when the group discover the boat they have hired is a far cry away from the speedboat they were expecting. Luckily, kind stranger Alex – aka former EastEnders star Matt Lapinskas manages to save the day.
Their happiness is short-lived, however, when things take another sinister turn later on.
While showing off Cindy's wedding ring, Luke and the rest of the stag-do are faced with armed robbers and end up being mugged.
Afterwards, the shaken-up clan say a goodbye to their new friend Alex, when Luke spots his jewellery, and wonders why they weren't stolen too.
Luke quickly soon makes a shocking realisation and finds himself with a dangerous task.
Knowing that failure of this could has a deadly cost for Ollie, Luke has to try and remember what to do in order to save his son's life.
Fans will have to wait and see what happens next, but there's many touching moments and heartfelt reflections as Luke's final episode approaches.
Tragedy then strikes at sunset, as the final chapter of Luke's story takes place.
Sunny Mallorca quickly turns sorrowful for Luke's loved ones as they wait at his bedside for news.
Although Tony tries to keep spirits up with a pep talk on Luke's resilience, Cindy later gets the heartbreaking news that the doctors can't do anymore for him.
Hollyoaks will an hour-long special focused on Luke on Monday, June 6 at 7pm on E4 and Wednesday, June 8 at 6pm on Channel 4.
Hollyoaks now streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
