Yahoo News Hollyoaks hints at explosive return for Shane Sweeney
Hollyoaks has teased an explosive return for Shane Sweeney with a not-so-subtle hint on its Instagram account today.
Shane was feared dead back in August after he and Joel Dexter both fell off a cliff edge when a fight went horribly wrong.
Although the former priest managed to escape the horror fall relatively unscathed, it seemed like Shane hadn't been so lucky when Joel, Cleo and Darren struggled to wake him – before deciding to abandon him, believing he was dead.
A later twist did see a guilty Joel and Cleo return to the scene of the accident with a police officer but fail to find Shane's body where they'd left it – leaving us to wonder if he'd actually survived and wandered off.
And it now seems like that might have been the case as Michael Salami, who plays him, appears to be back filming.
The show's latest Instagram story sees Michael pose for a cast selfie in the green room– meaning it's likely to be only a matter of time before we see Shane on our screens again.
But what does this mean for Joel, Cleo and Darren, who all ruthlessly abandoned him?
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
