Hollyoaks has hinted at a sad new story for Imran Maalik.

The teen has been going through a rough time over the last several months, including struggling with his commitment to his faith.

After being wrongly caught up in recent romantic drama between Juliet Nightingale and Peri Lomax, Tony Hutchinson will be determined to cheer up Imran.

Tony tries to set up Imran with Serena Chen-Williams, but when Imran invites some friends on their date, Theresa prevents the two from getting time together.

Serena will eventually suggest a more private setting for a date, leaving Imran so confused that he makes up an excuse to leave.

Back at The Dog, Tony is hosting a livestream taste-testing. After Tony asks Imran to take a bite on camera, his employee fakes having some of the food on offer.

Imran tries to make things up with Serena by encouraging her to come to the relaunch, yet their date once again turns sour once Tony accidentally spills a dish on Imran. Diane offers to clean the shirt, only for Imran to get defensive.

A third attempt to get their date right seems to be going better until Serena encourages Imran to share her dessert. Later, Imran offers to help Serena train for her next race so long as she helps him with dietary advice.

Viewers will need to stay tuned to see how the story unfolds, as Imran struggles with sensitivities over his body image.
