Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Juliet Nightingale has agreed to give mum Donna-Marie a second chance in Hollyoaks.
Last week's first-look episodes capped off with Donna-Marie spying on James as he shared a secret kiss with John Paul, after she'd been picked up by police for allegedly stealing a family photo from Juliet's flat.
In Monday's E4 first-look episode, Donna-Marie wasted no time in laying out her cards — she'd tell Ste about the kiss unless James agreed to lift Juliet's non-molestation order against her.
"How do I know I can trust you to hold up your end?" James asked, with Donna-Marie promising: "I won't risk my relationship with my daughter over you!"
James has little choice but to try to convince Juliet to give her mum a second chance, and surprisingly he got some unintended help from Ste.
Ste made the point to Juliet that James was defending Donna-Marie because he was trying to save their relationship, much like he was trying to do with his own romance with Ste.
Juliet let her mum come round for a heart-to-heart, where Donna-Marie tried to make a final appeal for forgiveness.
"I know I've been a rubbish mum," she admitted. "I never read you books, I never took you to the park unless they had a deal going on, but I want to put things right… I didn't plan for my life to go the way it did.
"I had dreams. That is the worst part about getting clean."
After getting Donna-Marie to admit she'd stolen the family photo, Juliet agreed to give her mum one more chance. In the final scene of the episode, Peri shared how proud she'd been of Juliet.
Peri also pulled out the family photo, revealing it had suddenly appeared again. But was Donna-Marie really the one who'd broken in to steal it?
Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
