Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Hollyoaks has kicked off a disturbing new storyline for the McQueens.
Tuesday's episode started a Hollyoaks 25th anniversary thread that will see the McQueen family terrorised by a blackmail plot.
A strange scene in Tuesday's (October 13) first-look episode showed a diary with the seven deadly sins handwritten, along with a text message reading: "Is 7 your lucky number? Only time will tell."
The scene than shifted to a confused Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) receiving the text, but she was interrupted by Felix (Richard Blackwood) before she could delve too deeply.
In the episode's tag, the thread was revisited in a disturbing scene set in a twisted toy shop, as a talking doll ominously said: "Seven deadly sins. Seven McQueens."
Later this week, John Paul (James Sutton) will set about trying to solve this bizarre mystery when he finds out that both himself and Mercedes have been receiving alarming text messages.
This Hollyoaks 25th anniversary storyline will play out with the McQueens being blackmailed by a mysterious figure — certainly someone who knows a lot about their past.
Everything is set to get more complicated for the McQueens in Wednesday's (October 14) E4 episode when Theresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter) arrives back in Hollyoaks at the worst possible time.
Does she know anything about the blackmail… and if not, what does the creepy dollmaker have in store for her? It has been confirmed that Sylver will face the first consequences next week, when Breda's death is revisited.
Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4. Classic episodes, titled Hollyoaks Favourites, air on Fridays at 7pm on E4.
