Hollyoaks serial killer Breda McQueen may have made a serious slip in her attempts to cover up the shock murder of Harry Thompson.

Vengeful Breda (Moya Brady) stabbed Harry (Parry Glasspool) to death in Monday's first-look episode on E4 — adding him to the hit list of 'bad dads' she's murdered, along with Louis Loveday, Russ Owen and Mac Nightingale.

With Harry's loved ones thinking he'd fled town to avoid hit-and-run charges, Breda sought to cover up the gruesome death during Tuesday's first-look episode.

Back in the village, Tony (Nick Pickard) was furiously trying to get in touch with Harry after leaving him a supportive message the day before, while Harry's ex-boyfriend James (Gregory Finnegan) was starting to unravel.

At the same, Breda was spreading misinformation by encouraging a panicked Tony to check the cab office for possible clues about his whereabouts.

While Tony was conducting his search, Breda retrieved Harry's phone from the boot of her car and sent along a fake text to Tony telling him that Harry had arrived safely in France.

Over at the Nightingale house, James had built a shrine with a plan to confess his "numerous sins" to Romeo and Juliet — only to be interrupted by a blip on his phone-tracking app from The Dog car park.

But when James and Marnie (Lysette Anthony) rushed to the car park to find him, Breda was able to convince them that Harry was actually nowhere around.

Things continued looking up for Breda when Sadie (Alexa Lee) decided to make a new start with baby Isaac by leaving town, taking another of Harry's loved ones out of the equation.

Although it looked like Breda had got away with her distraction, Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) spotted a clue when she noticed an emoji in the text supposedly sent by Harry.

"Never thought Harry was the emoji type," Diane mentioned, with Tony agreeing: "He's not. Harry hates emojis. When I use them, he refuses to reply… Harry would never send a message like this! What if somebody else sent it?"

Have Diane and Tony just stumbled on a clue that will expose the truth about Breda's murder of Harry?

Hollyoaks airs Mondays through Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm.
