Yahoo News Hollyoaks kills off Tracey Donovan in a dark twist
Hollyoaks has killed off Lisa Maxwell's character Tracey Donovan.
Tracey's final scenes aired in Wednesday's E4 first look episode (September 20), as a final showdown with her enemy Darcy Wilde turned deadly.
Tracey found herself armed with some useful information about Darcy (Aisling Jarrett-Gavin), who was betrayed by her own private investigator.
The Donovan family's troubled matriarch later confronted Darcy with the incriminating evidence at the Loveboat, but she clearly didn't count on just how far Darcy would go to keep her secret.
Hollyoaks' latest cliffhanger saw Grace horrified to find her mum's lifeless body in the river after her showdown with Darcy.
Tragically, Grace was just about to go on holiday to Paris with Tracey, having given up on her sinister plan to kill Warren Fox.
Lisa Maxwell filmed her final scenes for Hollyoaks a few weeks ago, but show bosses kept quiet about her exit to make sure viewers were surprised by Tracey's fate.
Hollyoaks bosses brought in Lisa as Tracey in September 2016 as a recurring guest star. The actress is best known for her role as Samantha Nixon in The Bill and for being a Loose Women panellist for five years.
Tracey's death will be the reason that the Donovans' father Glenn reappears next month, marking the beginning of a new era for the family. But with Darcy now hiding a dark secret, how long can she stay in the picture?
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
