Hollyoaks' Leela and Peri Lomax are set to make a surprising decision over Ste Hay's future as he desperately tries to leave his far-right extremist group.
In scenes set to air next week, Ste will be seen sending a letter to Sami over the fence, begging for help to get him out.
However, the letter will land in the hands of Azim, who soon realises that Ste is sincere about wanting to get out, so he recruits the help of Ste's family, Leela and Peri.
After some convincing by Azim, the girls will decide to give Ste another chance and help him escape – but will they be able to distract Jonny and Stuart for long enough?
Speaking about Leela and Peri's initial reaction to Ste needing help, Leela actress Kirsty-Leigh Porter said: "As far as Leela and Peri are concerned, they have done all they can to help Ste.
"They think it is up to him to help himself, and they can't believe that it has got to a point where he's not even thinking about his kids anymore, the group come first. After Azim realises Ste really wants out, he comes round to talk to Leela and convince her to help Ste. Leela is not convinced at first."
Asked how they eventually manage to get Ste away from Jonny and Stuart, she added: "Once they decide to help Ste, they quickly set up another plan to get him away from Jonny and Stuart without them finding out.
"With Peri working at the hospital, they set up a fake hospital appointment for Ste, which Ste attends accompanied by Jonny and Stuart. But when Ste walks into the room, Leela is waiting behind the curtain for him."
The soap is set to air an hour-long special next week to conclude Ste's radicalisation storyline, and we know that it will culminate in a dramatic clifftop scene.
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
