·2-min read

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Some of Hollyoaks' most beloved characters will bid farewell to The Hutch in upcoming scenes.

The restaurant jointly owned by Tony Hutchinson and wife Diane, Darren Osborne, Mandy Richardson, Luke Morgan and Nancy Hayton has been facing serious financial strain for some time.

The pandemic has made it harder to drive up customers, leaving Tony and Darren to fall prey to their former friend Kurt's get-rich-quick schemes and other missteps.

Upcoming scenes will have Tony struggling to keep The Hutch's troubles from Diane because of her own continued mental health concerns.

Diane attempts to get more involved with the restaurant, but a call to a supplier only ends up sticking Tony with a £5,000 bill he's hopelessly unable to pay.

Luke is convinced the friends can come together to save The Hutch with a day of pizza-making. Tony soon realises Luke is actually hurting the business by selling the pizza below its value.

Talking to Walter about the Price Slice's recent robbery gives Luke the very bad idea to stage a break-in at The Hutch to claim insurance money.

While Tony reluctantly agrees to go along with the risky plot, the fake robbery plan never really gets off its feet.

Tony is ultimately left with no choice but to tell Diane and business partners Darren, Nancy and Mandy that they don't have the money to keep running The Hutch.

Mandy is worried about losing her only income source, whereas Cindy and Nancy are deeply concerned over what the the loss of The Hutch will mean for their families.

The friends gather for one last supper at The Hutch. Is there any way they can save their business?
