Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
The McQueen family's blackmailer has named their price in new Hollyoaks scenes.
The soap's big anniversary storyline is seeing Hollyoaks' first family targeted by a mysterious dollmaker, who has sent one of his hideous creations to taunt the McQueens following the return of Theresa.
The McQueens gathered together in Thursday's first-look episode (October 15) to hash out the evidence – they'd all been receiving strange text messages alluding to the Seven Deadly Sins.
Now, they were being blackmailed to each pay up £700 per person, or their blackmailer would release secrets about them. As they discussed strategy, Mercedes demanded to take control.
"If they pay up, they're going to keep on wanting more. So, please, just let me fix this," Mercy demanded.
John Paul agreed to go along with Mercedes' strategy, so the rest of the family watched along as she pressed the "No" option on the doll.
Her tough approach didn't pay off, as the doll turned nasty in the episode's final scene by flickering the lights in The Dog as it threatened Mercy and Sylver.
"You could have saved yourselves so much trouble, but now, you've made me angry," the doll warned. "I'll reveal your sins one by one unless you can pay £7,000 per sin.
"The first sin has been chosen."
Mercedes quickly figured out that the doll was referring to the sin of "wrath", with the doll threatening that the McQueens had 18 hours to "pay up" or "the secret will be revealed and one of you will go to jail".
Next week, Sylver is the first one to pay for his sins when his mum Breda's death is revisited from earlier this year.
Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4. Classic episodes, titled Hollyoaks Favourites, air on Fridays at 7pm on E4.
