Hollyoaks' Mercedes discovers Cher frame-up plot over baby Eva

Mercedes McQueen is set to discover the truth about the baby Eva kidnapping plot in Hollyoaks.

Mercy went away to a rehab a few weeks ago, after being led to believe she'd kidnapped Tony and Diane's newborn daughter Eva in a drunken state.

Yet, in next week's episodes, she will learn the truth that step-daughter Cher Winters set her up by snatching the child and placing her near an unconscious Mercy.

The McQueens welcome Mercedes home in upcoming episodes, but Sylver's hopes of having another baby are dashed when Mercy admits the Eva ordeal soured her on having more children.

Cher isn't content to leave well enough alone, so she encourages Tony to pay Mercedes a visit – knowing full well it could be a setback for her.

However, Mercedes soon makes a discovery that she wasn't the one who'd abducted baby Eva after all. While Mercy is concentrating on proving her case, Sylver gets disappointing news at the fertility clinic.

It's Peri who ultimately reveals the truth when she mishears one of Mercedes's private conversations and reveals it was Cher who'd framed her stepmum over the kidnapping.

A furious Mercedes goes directly to Cher to find out the truth. Cher is left with only two choices – will she continue to lie or will she finally come clean about her long-held grudge against Mercy?

Hollyoaks is set to air these scenes on Monday, July 26, Tuesday, July 27 and Wednesday, July 28 at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing at 7pm on E4.
