Mercedes McQueen has taken her revenge on Cher over poisoning Sylver in Hollyoaks.
Cher has confessed to the family that she slipped poison in The Dog's punch, only after Sylver collapsed into a coma from cardiac arrest after drinking the spiked brew.
Friday's (August 27) first-look episode saw Cher at Sylver's bedside tearfully vowing that she would put right all the misdeeds of the last several months.
Later, DS Cohen turned up at The Dog to question all of the McQueens because she'd received an anonymous tip-off about the poisoning.
Cher was about to confess, when Mercedes covered for her by telling DS Cohen that Sylver had gone out on the town for some drinks with his friends.
"Come on, [Cher's] not that twisted that she'd poison her own dad, is she?" Mercedes added.
Once DS Cohen had left, Cher promised the McQueens she'd do everything in her power to make up for what she'd done to Sylver.
"You think because I stopped you from going to jail that we're just going to forget about what you did?" she angrily asked. "It will take a miracle. Sylver is still in a coma.
"That beautiful, loving man who opened his heart to you still might die. You need to pay for that. We gave you somewhere to live. A family. You've proved that you don't deserve any of it.
"So, I'm gonna take it all back. You're on your own!"
Mercedes struck even lower by insisting Cher had "enough blood on [her] hands" when she killed her sister, leaving Cher absolutely heartbroken.
"That is who you are, Cher. You are a toxic, vindictive little girl," Mercedes seethed. "I want you out of this pub, out of this family for good. You're on your own now."
Where will Cher go?
