Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Hollyoaks' Ollie Morgan returned to the village with a bombshell announcement in tonight's E4 first-look episode, as he confirmed to Cindy Cunningham that he left rehab early in order to be with his new girlfriend, Evie.
Ollie (Gabriel Clark) has been away from town and undergoing treatment in a rehab facility since early in April, following a special episode focusing on mental health.
But Cindy (Stephanie Waring) was surprised to see that Ollie had unexpectedly returned home early in Tuesday's (June 1) episode, and was stunned even further when he later revealed that he had decided to discharge himself early.
"I need to talk to both of you, together," Ollie told Cindy. "I'll explain everything – I promise."
With Ollie's dad Luke (Gary Lucy) still struggling with his mum's worsening health issues and thoughts of his own mortality prompting him to consider turning to alcohol once again, Cindy was unsure how to tell Luke about his son's return.
The matter was soon decided for her, however, when Luke admitted that he wanted to sort his head out before he could deal with anything else.
"One family crisis at a time, at the moment," Luke told Cindy. "I don't think I can deal with anything else."
As Cindy returned to meet with Ollie on her own, the pair were soon interrupted by a new face and Ollie excitedly introduced Cindy to his new girlfriend Evie, who has a young baby.
"We met in rehab," he explained. "She's my girlfriend, and I want her to move in with us."
Evie and Ollie quickly explained that Evie had been kicked out of the rehab facility, with Ollie insisting that rehab doesn't work for everyone and he discharged himself so that he could support Evie and her son Louis too.
"I know it seems fast, but we bonded quickly in there," Ollie told Cindy.
Shocked by Ollie's revelations, Cindy was left concerned that Ollie and Evie's relationship wasn't healthy for either of them, especially with Ollie still in recovery himself.
As Ollie insisted that they have room and can provide stability for Evie and Louis, Cindy then explained to Ollie that Sue was now living with them too and broke the news about her terminal heart condition before adding that Luke was not in a good place at the moment.
"What is he going to think when he sees you like this, hey? Messing with your recovery?" Cindy insisted to Luke.
"He'd be worried sick, you know he would. Just let me handle your dad, and I'll make you a deal."
Later, Cindy was seen receiving a text from Ollie that saw the teen agree to Cindy's deal, adding that she had to be quick about it.
After Cindy made her excuses to Luke, she quickly rushed to meet Ollie and told him that it would be best if Luke didn't know that Ollie had left rehab just yet, before handing him a wad of cash.
"You're paying me off to stay away," Ollie said. "Dad would be disgusted."
"I'm trying to protect him, I'm trying to protect all of us!" Cindy insisted. "It just isn't the right time. Please, just don't tell anyone you've been back here, and call me and let you know you're alright."
Cindy's plot was quickly rumbled, however, as Luke's mum Sue (Marian McLoughlin) witnessed the whole exchange.
With viewers already well aware that Sue is willing to do anything to split Luke and Cindy up, it's only a matter of time before Luke finds out what Cindy has done.
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing at 7pm on E4.
