Hollyoaks is paying tribute to former cast member Terence Harvey.
Harvey made a number of appearances in the soap throughout the summer and autumn of 2010 as Alistair Longford, Texas and India Longford's wealthy grandfather.
In a message posted on the official Hollyoaks social feed, the soap's executive producer Brian Kirkwood paid tribute: "It's with sadness we share the news that friend of Hollyoaks, Terence Harvey, has died.
"Along with many other roles on TV over the years, Terence played Alistair Longford on Hollyoaks… Hollyoaks sends our love and condolences to Terence's family."
The tribute was captioned with: "RIP Terence Harvey, who played Alistair Longford, a fantastic actor and friend of #Hollyoaks…"
When he arrived in Hollyoaks in 2010, Alistair quickly caught the eye of the opportunistic Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring), who married him to get a hold of his wealth.
However, Cindy returned from their honeymoon a few months later with the news that Alistair had died after he fell off the Swiss Alps.
Throughout a long career as one of British TV's most memorable character actors, Harvey put in several appearances as the local doctor in Mr Selfridge and featured in a memorable Waking the Dead two-parter.
He also appeared in classic TV hits like Silent Witness, Downton Abbey, EastEnders, The Bill, Doctors and Hotel Babylon over the years.
