After walking in on boyfriend Ryan sleeping with her brother Ste Hay, a dramatic confrontation soon led Tegan to discover that Ryan was the one who killed his wife Amy Barnes last year.
After trying to silence Tegan for good by smothering her, things soon took a dramatic turn when viewers realised that Ryan hadn't killed her after all.
But if, like Ryan himself, you thought the net was closing in on the most bent copper in 'Oaks, then we're afraid we've got some bad news for you.
Speaking to Radio Times about her dramatic storyline, actress Jessica Ellis – who plays Tegan – revealed that the aftermath of Ryan's attack will be less than straightforward.
When asked if she would like to see Tegan be the one to bring Ryan down, Jessica said: "Absolutely! But this is Hollyoaks and obviously it won't be that straightforward as the storyline develops."
Hinting at what happens next for her character as events move forward, Jessica promised that things were going to be "life-changing".
"What I will say is that a lot of research has gone into what happens to Tegan afterwards," she teased.
While we're not exactly sure what's in store for Tegan, it doesn't sound good – as Duncan James (Ryan Knight) recently told Digital Spy that he "hasn't finished the job off properly".
"It's a classic Hollyoaks storyline, but you'll have to stay tuned to find out what happens next. Will Ryan try to kill her again?" he mused.
"How will he deal with the thought that she's still alive and knows all of his secrets?"
Hollyoaks airs weekdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes on E4 at 7pm.
