Ray Quinn is following up his recent Hollyoaks stint by returning to his roots.

The 31-year-old has announced that he will return with his first album in 13 years on May 29, when his covers record Undeniable is released. Fans can pre-order it right now by clicking here.

Undeniable will feature four original songs as well as eight classic covers – including new single 'Mercy' – of legendary artists like Christopher Cross and Celebrity Big Brother icon Leo Sayer as well as contemporary stars such as Duffy and Zedd (via Total Entertainment).

"The theme is classic songs, sung by some of my favourite singers, all backed with some of the best musicians from around the UK," Ray said of his comeback album.

"I'm so lucky to have the opportunity to sing these in my own way and bring something new to songs that date from the '60s to the present day.

"Ever since I was a little boy, I grew up listening to the finest artists in entertainment, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jnr, Andy Williams and Sir Tom Jones to name a few.

"These artists and many like them paved the way when it came to music changing the world."

As mentioned, Undeniable will be Ray's first album of new material since Doing It My Way was released following his X Factor success in 2007.

Ray wrapped up a year-long arc playing the extremist Jonny Baxter in Hollyoaks last November, when Jonny was finally arrested for his role in terrorising the local Muslim community.

"For me, it was a delight coming back to a soap, especially Hollyoaks because it was like coming home with a lot of the people who were here then," he told Digital Spy. "It was a real honour coming back to a soap, particularly Hollyoaks."

He also recently announced his engagement to girlfriend Emily Fletcher after more than three years of dating.
