Hollyoaks is set to repeat its first ever episode on October 23 to mark the soap's 25th anniversary.
The Channel 4 soap is already building towards the huge milestone in its new episodes, with a recent trailer promising plenty of drama to come, and now Hollyoaks has revealed it will mark 25 years since the soap's first broadcast by re-airing its first episode at 7pm on Friday, October 23 on E4.
The episode will air as part of the Hollyoaks Friday Favourites series on E4, which has been giving viewers a chance to look back at classic episodes from across the show's 25-year run.
First broadcast in 1995, the episode features a main cast of just seven – including Nick Pickard (Tony), Will Mellor (Jambo) and Jeremy Edwards (Kurt) – and was written by show creator Phil Redmond.
An episode description reads: "Teen heartthrob Kurt Benson has been chasing after Natasha for weeks – quite literally on the back of his iconic motorbike.
"With best friends Tony and Jambo by his side, he manages to get into her friend's party, but ends up racing to the girls' rescue.
"Natasha agrees to let Kurt walk her home to The Dog in the Pond, but will he get his goodnight kiss?"
News of the first episode's re-broadcast follows the confirmation that Kurt Benson will be returning to screens this month, despite his friends and family believing that he died in a jet ski accident in 1999.
It also follows the announcement that cast members from the soap will compete in a Come Dine with Me special for the anniversary, with Gary Lucy, Ruby O'Donnell, Rishi Nair, Jorgie Porter and Jeremy Edwards all attempting to serve up their best in an attempt to win £1,000 for charity.
Hollyoaks continues Mondays through Thursdays with first-look episodes at 7pm on E4, followed by repeat airings on Channel 4 the following evening at 6.30pm.
Hollyoaks Does Come Dine With Me will air on the week of October 19 at 7.30pm on E4, while Hollyoaks' first-ever episode repeat will air at 7pm on Friday, October 23 on E4.
