Hollyoaks has responded after fans spotted a blunder in yesterday's (June 13) episode.

The soap often puts phone graphics on screen during episodes, but when Nikki Sanderson's character Maxine Minniver called the hospital, the text had a spelling error.

In Maxine's contacts book, it was under the name 'Dee Valley Hosptial'.

Facebook user Lauren Burke took a picture of the mistake and shared it with 'The Hollyverse' – a fan group on the social media platform.

And this didn't go unnoticed by the soap's official Facebook account, as it cheekily replied: "Happens to the best of us..." before adding: "Maxine might have been in a hurry when she typed it out... #AnyExcuse"

Yeah, yeah. Blame it on Maxine, why don't you...

Meanwhile, Sanderson recently suggested that the audience hate Maxine, thanks to her latest storyline.

Maxine has spent the past few months claiming to be seriously ill, but viewers know that she has Munchausen's syndrome – a psychological disorder where someone pretends to be unwell.

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
