Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Luke Morgan and Cindy Cunningham haven't been having an easy time recently and things are set to get worse for the couple when Ollie Morgan makes a shocking return.

Cindy (Stephanie Waring) will make a decision that could jeopardise her entire future.

Recently, Luke's (Gary Lucy) mother Sue Morgan has returned and she shared the devastating news that she is terminally ill. Sue (Marian McLoughlin) starts planning her funeral which leads to an argument between her and Luke.

Speaking to Inside Soap, Stephanie talked about having Marian back on the set, explained that she's enjoyed working with her again and said she'd love to see more past character return to Chester.

"I’m a huge advocate of bringing original characters back to the show, whether they’re played by the original actor or not. But I love seeing old faces back on the show – I remember that I’m one of them myself," Stephanie explained.

As the drama continues to unfold, Cindy is unaware that Sue is trying to sabotage her relationship with Luke as she has always favoured Luke's ex-partner Mandy Richardson (Sarah Jayne Dunn).

Stephanie said: "Sue really wants Mandy and Luke to get back together, which she’s attempting to make happen on the sly. Cindy wants to be liked, but part of her feels she’s just not good enough. Like Sue said, Cindy will always be the girl who gave birth on the video shop floor!"

When Ollie returns, Cindy is completely distracted, she speaks to him away from everyone to find out why he left rehab early. Stephanie said that Ollie drops "a huge bombshell" on Cindy and it leaves her feeling conflicted.

"Cindy decides to keep it from Luke. She doesn’t feel Luke’s up to dealing with it on top of his mum dying and his own dementia," Stephanie added.

To stop Luke from finding out about Ollie, Cindy pays him to leave as she thinks it's what's best for Luke, but Cindy doesn't realise that Sue knows what she's done.

Explaining what Sue does with this revelation, Stephanie said: "Cindy feels she’s done it for the greater good, yet it really backfires on her.

"Sue spills the beans to Luke, and Cindy’s life comes crashing down. Cindy doesn’t realise it, but what she does will change the course of her life."

When Sue uses the situation to her advantage, Luke takes his mother's side, will this be the end for Cindy and Luke's relationship?

Hollyoaks airs Ollie's return on Wednesday, June 2 at 6.30pm on Channel 4. First-look episodes air weeknights at 7pm on E4.
