Hollyoaks star David Tag has opened up about tragically losing two friends to suicide.
The actor plays Sylver McQueen on the Channel 4 soap and is an ambassador for mental health charity MenWalkTalk, which organises events encouraging men to "walk, talk and reduce social isolation together" as well as "breaking the stigma surrounding men and mental health".
Speaking recently, David opened up about his own mental health during the coronavirus pandemic.
He also revealed that two of his friends died by suicide after privately struggling with their mental health.
"I am a strong-willed person and I found during lockdown a lot of people suffered in a lot of different ways," David told Manchester Evening News.
"During lockdown two people I know died by suicide."
He added: "When it gets down to the nitty-gritty, men pull back and think 'I'm being pathetic, weak and stupid. There is a stigma."
David is currently expecting his first child with with girlfriend Abi Harrison.
"Some good came out of 2020," he wrote on Instagram earlier this year.
