Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Hollyoaks star Ellis Hollins has addressed the big mystery surrounding just who was in the body bag in the show's flashforward episode.
The Channel 4 soap finished off 2019 with one of its most talked-about episodes – a flashforward special giving a tantalising glimpse of the future.
The game-changing edition teased a number of shock events due to take place on December 31 this year – including a tragic death and a mystery wedding.
Addressing the mystery, the Tom Cunningham star said on Digital Spy's brand new Soap Scoop podcast that, while his alter ego is safe, he's still very much in the dark about the identity of the victim.
"I genuinely don't know," he explained. "I'd love to know. All I know is that it's not me.
"I'm quite clueless about the situation, so it's as exciting to me as it is for everyone else who isn't in the body bag. It's exciting for everyone who isn't that one person."
The other big talking point from the flashforward was the mystery wedding featuring the teen characters. Romeo and Tom were seen in similar suits outside The Dog, making it unclear which of them – if either – was the groom.
Teasing whether Tom could be the groom, Ellis said: "I mean, he could be but I could also give you a list of people who it could be. I wouldn't base it off that.
"Tom has got some interesting stuff coming up which may or may not be tied into the flashforward and that's all I am licensed to say."
Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4. Classic episodes, titled Hollyoaks Favourites, air on Fridays at 7pm on E4.
