Yahoo News Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe gives birth
Jennifer Metcalfe has welcomed a baby boy with former Geordie Shore star Greg Lake.
The Hollyoaks star, who has played Mercedes McQueen since 2006, has given birth to her fist child with her partner of four years Greg Lake – who appeared on series one of the MTV show.
Speaking to OK! Online, her representative said: "We are delighted to announce that our client Jennifer Metcalfe and partner Greg Lake welcomed a baby boy into the world yesterday.
"Mother and baby are doing fine."
The 34-year-old soap star announced her pregnancy back in February and was keen to keep working until the end of her pregnancy, previously telling Digital Spy: "I haven't got a clue what I am doing so I'm just going to trust their guidance and whenever they want me to go, I'll go.
"But I'm willing to work until the end. Hollyoaks are really supportive, it's so lovely."
When she announced her pregnancy, she said: "When we first found out, we were like, 'Oh my God!' We didn't think it would happen so quickly and we found out so early on.
"It's such a miracle to even be able to conceive so you don't know if you can until you try, so to actually get one in there and see it growing, we couldn't believe it!"
Jennifer also recently revealed that she'll be taking a year's maternity leave from Hollyoaks.
