Yahoo News Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe was "shocked" by McQueen blackmailer identity
Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe has said she was "shocked" when she found out the identity of the McQueen family blackmailer.
The actress, who plays Mercedes McQueen in the soap, revealed that she is excited to see what viewers think of the blackmailer.
The soap's big 25th anniversary storyline is seeing the family targeted by a mysterious dollmaker, who has sent one of their terrifying creations to taunt the McQueens following the return of Theresa.

Recent scenes saw the family get together and discover they'd all been receiving strange text messages alluding to the Seven Deadly Sins, and they all had very different ideas on how to handle the threat.
Jennifer told Inside Soap: "I'm excited to see their reaction – I know who it is and I couldn't believe it! I hope viewers are as shocked as I was."
Mercedes decided to take a stand against the blackmailer and pressed the "No" option on the doll, but then got a very terrifying threat back.

"Mercedes is so scared," Jennifer added. "But she's putting up this front for the sake of her family as she knows they're more frightened than her.
"It's a huge threat from the blackmailer, yet there's also the threat among the McQueens. They thought they didn't have secrets from each other – and this shows there are things they're hiding."
Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look screenings at 7pm on E4. Classic episodes, titled Hollyoaks Favourites, air on Fridays at 7pm on E4.
