Hollyoaks star Nick Pickard has hinted that Will Mellor could return as Jambo at some point in the future.
The Channel 4 soap is already set to bring Kurt Benson (Jeremy Edwards) back from the dead in one of the show's 25th anniversary storylines, and it'll naturally come as a big surprise to his best mate Tony Hutchinson (played by Pickard).
Pickard himself was also surprised by the news, telling the RadioTimes.com: "Our producer Bryan Kirkwood called me in to tell me Kurt was returning and I just said – 'Well… he’s dead!'
"Bryan said it happened off screen [his apparent death from a jet ski accident] so we can get around it – so I thought, fair enough! Go with it!"
But will another classic character also be making a comeback for the 25h anniversary? Pickard has suggested it could be on the cards.
"It’s been great having Jeremy back but I’d love Jambo to return for a few episodes too," he said.
"We talked about it last year and hoped it might work out for the 25th anniversary, but it’s finding the time and fitting it in as Will is so busy. But he’d love to do it."
Pickard added: "Tony still talks about Jambo all the time, and he’s actually still alive so there’d be less explanation needed than bringing Kurt back from the dead, that’s for sure!"
Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4. Classic episodes, titled Hollyoaks Favourites, air on Fridays at 7pm on E4.
