Hollyoaks star reveals Sienna and Brody's future

Hollyoaks star Adam Woodward has told Digital Spy that there's a strong future for popular couple Brody Hudson and Sienna Blake after a traumatic few weeks.

The show has been airing another important issue-based storyline this year, as Sienna has been experiencing sexual harassment in the workplace.

Recent episodes have seen the perpetrator, Hollyoaks High's deputy head Laurie Shelby, escape punishment for the time being – leaving Sienna angered by the lack of justice.

Speaking to Digital Spy about what's next, Adam explained: "Obviously we've seen that Brody has tried to support Sienna in everything that she was going through.

"Because it's been so traumatic for her, he's going to be there and be her rock – just like she was there for him during [Buster's] abuse trial.

"His role is one of supporting her, trying to help her come to terms with it and the aftermath of everything that's happened."

Adam has also explored his own challenging storyline in the past year. Brody fought to bring his former football coach Buster Smith to justice for abusing him when he was a child. The predator was also targeting Ollie Morgan in the present day.

This plot is now up for Best Storyline and Scene of the Year at the British Soap Awards 2019, while Adam is in the running for Best Male Dramatic Performance.

Discussing the recognition, he added: "As a storyline in total, it was so well-received. The charity that we worked with, Survivors Manchester, had increases in calls.

"We all got private messages from people who thanked us. It's nice to do a job that you love and also help some people in the process."

Votes for the British Soap Awards can be cast via the ceremony's official website. Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
