Hollyoaks star Trevor A Toussaint teases Walter Deveraux's mysterious secret

From Digital Spy

Hollyoaks star Trevor A Toussaint has teased that Walter Deveraux is hiding a secret that could prove "devastating" for his loved ones as he's blackmailed by newcomer Felix Westwood.

In last night's (April 1) E4 first-look episode, viewers saw Felix (Richard Blackwood) manipulate Walter (Toussaint) into helping him fix his relationship with his son Mitchell (Imran Adams) by threatening to let slip a few home truths to his family.

It's a threat that Walter takes seriously enough that he sets out to do as Felix asks of him and actor Trevor A Toussaint has now shared a bit more insight into Walter's reaction, explaining that he's "definitely frightened" of the knowledge that Felix has.

"Let's just say that Walter has been living his truth for the past 26 years, but that's not necessarily the whole truth," Trevor said in a recent interview with Inside Soap.

"There's a bit more to it than he's been telling his family, so he's very worried by Felix's threats. It could be devastating for his loved ones if the truth comes out."

He continued: "There's not much Walter can do, he has to go along with it. He doesn't want the truth to come out. Walter doesn't perceive Felix to be a physical threat, but he is definitely frightened of the knowledge that Felix has and is holding over him.

But while it looks like Walter may be desperate enough to do anything to protect his secret right now, Trevor adds that his character could still surprise viewers yet.

"If Walter is pushed, I think he'd go to lengths that you'd not expect him to go to. But it depends on when and how the secret comes out," the actor teased.

"The thing about secrets is that you only have power over someone while it's still a secret – once it's out, the power is gone. So Walter would go to any lengths to protect his family – it's just whether he gets there before the truth comes out..."
