Hollyoaks stars have teamed up with staff at Co-operative Bank to raise money for youth homelessness charity Centrepoint.

The charity's ambassador Lisa Maxwell – who recently bowed out of her role as Tracey Donovan – hosted the evening and was joined by her former castmates Jimmy Essex (Adam), Aisling Jarrett-Gavin (Darcy) and Tamara Wall (Grace).

The 'Sleep Out' took place at the iconic London Road Fire Station site in Manchester and saw over 100 participants bed down in the unheated building and courtyard.

The Hollyoaks clan joined staff members at the Co-operative Bank – who are sponsoring the event – to sleep outside last night (October 19) in a bid to experience some of the stark realities of homelessness.

Funds raised will support Centrepoint's work in Greater Manchester. The event is part of a national fundraising initiative taking place in 14 cities across the UK throughout October and November.

A sad twist in Hollyoaks this week saw Harry Thompson sleeping rough, having been kicked out of the family home by his dad Tony.

Tony made the shock decision after learning that Harry killed Amy Barnes (or so he thinks), but he believes his son has been staying with a friend – unaware that he's homeless and has been sleeping on the streets.

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
