Yahoo News Hollyoaks' Ste implicated in Amy death by his daughter
Hollyoaks' Ste Hay has finally remembered what really happened on the night of Amy Barnes's death, but it might be too late to save him.
Ste was already the prime suspect since he had another of his dangerous blackouts around the time of Amy's death, which itself occurred only hours after Ste had failed in last ditch effort to prevent her from moving her family to the US with her new love Ryan Knight.
Ste only looked more suspicious when Harry Thompson and Tony and Diane Hutchinson all gave him false alibis, after finding him confused and disorientated in the shower shortly after the crime took place.
Just as the investigator DS Armstrong delivered the news of Ste's alibi to Ryan tonight (March 29), Ste turned up at the Lomax house to check on his children. It wasn't long before he was rowing with Amy's grieving father Mike.
A shocked Ste suffered flashbacks to the night before, where he remembered arguing furiously with Amy shortly before her death. Had he committed the crime after all?
Luckily for Ste, he had further flashbacks throughout the hour, and recalled that Amy was alive when he'd stormed off from their row. He also recovered faint memories being lost in the woods trying to ring his dealer.
Having seemingly cleared himself of crime, Ste's relief was only short-lived because police fingered him as the prime suspect thanks to his own daughter Leah.
Leah admitted to DS Armstrong that she'd heard Ste and Amy arguing the night before, which proves to the copper that Harry and the Hutchinson's had given Ste a fake alibi.
In other harrowing scenes, it was up to poor Mike to tell his grandchildren that their mother had suffered an accident and was now in heaven.
Just when it looked like Ste would be going down for the crime, Mercedes McQueen and Scott Drinkwell came forward with new information… at their own peril.
They'd discovered that there was a £2000 bid on the mystery wig they'd stolen, totally unaware that their own recent burglary victim was that very bidder James.
When they finally learned of the murder that rocked Hollyoaks, Mercedes suddenly remembered that she saw someone entering Amy and Ryan's flat shortly before Amy's death.
That admission gave Ryan the perfect opportunity to blackmail her into implicating Ste, but Mercedes instead came clean to the detective about what she'd seen and also confessed to her own theft.
Will this new information hurt or help Stey?
